Muzyk FCM Reviews the MUTEC MC1.2+

Grzegorz Bartczak from the Polish online magazine Muzyk FCM has taken a closer look at the MUTEC MC1.2+. In his review, he presents the bidirectional digital audio converter as a versatile solution for setups in which different digital interfaces need to be connected reliably.

The review quickly makes clear what the MC1.2+ is designed for: it receives digital signals via USB, AES3, S/P-DIF or AES3id, converts them into other formats and, depending on the operating mode, can also distribute them in parallel to several outputs. This makes the device suitable for professional studio and broadcast environments as well as demanding hi-fi systems.

Bartczak also highlights the clear and functional design of the unit. Operation is handled via two buttons on the front panel, while LEDs indicate signal status, sampling rate and power supply. Another practical aspect is the flexible power supply: the MC1.2+ can be powered via the integrated mains connection, an external 9-volt power supply or directly via USB.

Beyond pure format conversion, the review also looks at signal conditioning. Thanks to its asynchronous USB operation with low-noise clock oscillators, the MC1.2+ can regenerate USB audio streams and help reduce phase noise and jitter.

In its conclusion, Muzyk FCM describes the MUTEC MC1.2+ as a compact, well-designed tool for all applications in which digital audio devices with different interfaces need to work together smoothly.
